Journey into the Styx (2021)
A film by Elske Henderson and Christel Liebenberg.
The animation was first shown at Elske Henderson’s solo exhibition ‘Lost Expectancies’ (2021) which dealt with loss as it relates to the experience of miscarriage. In 2022 it was exhibited as part of a group exhibition at DAOR contemporary, Cape Town. The animation acts as a funerary chant to the death of an unborn child, and the loss of a dream – a lost expectancy.

Humachine (2018)
A collaboration with Elske Henderson for the Forward? Forward! Forward Exhibition at Stellenbosch University museum (2018).
Humachine (2018) consisted of a sculpture, made by Elske Henderson, and an animation and a hologram, made by Christel Liebenberg.
The work is set in future post-apocalyptic society where the character repeats the same movements over and over. It considers how aspects of our past will still be existing and repeated in the future.
Awards: 3rd place Vuleka art competition 2019.
